About

I am an anthropological archaeologist interested in the responsiveness and resilience of economic systems to political and environmental change. My research integrates geochemistry, regional survey, statistics, and ceramic analysis to understand the contribution of exchange and technological innovation to the emergence of social inequality and development of urbanism.

I received my Ph.D. and Certificate in Asian Studies from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017, and am currently a Term Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Barnard College, Columbia University.

I am also an amateur ceramicist, contemporary dancer, and motorscooter enthusiast.
